The regional branch of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning concerning rainfall in several regions of Odisha.
Bhubaneswar: The IMD’s regional center has reported an orange alert for rain across different areas of Odisha.
The weather agency forecasts that certain districts may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, while light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected to occur across most districts in the state.
Here is the day-by-day weather warning for Odisha:
Day 1 (Valid until 8:30 AM on July 18):
- ORANGE WARNING: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in one or two locations within the districts of Baragada, Sonpur, Boudh, and Bolangir.
- YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall is expected in one or two spots across Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Anugola, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, and Nawrangpur.
- Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are anticipated in most areas of all Odisha districts.
Day 2 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 18 to 8:30 AM on July 19):
- YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall is predicted in one or two places within Sundargada, Baragada, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada, and Bolangir.
- Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in many regions including Sundargada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendhujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawrangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri, with a few places also likely to experience rain in Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagada.

- YELLOW WARNING: Anticipated heavy rainfall in one or two locations in Kendhujhar and Mayurbhanj.
