Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a nowcast alert for eight districts in Odisha, predicting light to moderate rainfall along with lightning and thunderstorms.
As per the advisory issued at 2:10 PM today, thunderstorms and lightning are highly likely to occur at a few locations in Malkangiri, Koraput, Kendujhar, Nabarangpur, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, and Jharsuguda over the next three hours.
The weather agency has recommended that residents stay vigilant regarding the changing weather and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. Individuals are advised to avoid open areas, trees, and power lines during the thunderstorms and lightning events.
