Severe Weather Alert for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack: Heavy Rain Expected in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, valid until approximately 4:30 PM on Tuesday.

Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is anticipated in certain areas of Khordha (which includes Bhubaneswar) and Cuttack (which includes Cuttack city) over the next three hours. Residents are urged to remain vigilant about the weather and to seek shelter to avoid lightning hazards.

As per the midday bulletin, significant rainfall is also predicted for August 4 in the districts of Sundargarh, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, and Ganjam. Additionally, there is a warning for thunderstorms with lightning and strong gusty winds (30-40 km/h) affecting Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Baragarh, Sambalpur, Debagarh, Anugul, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonpur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagarh.

The forecast suggests that the intensity of rainfall may increase in the coming days.
