Bhubaneswar: Temperatures are on the rise across Odisha, and the Regional Meteorological Centre reports no significant changes in the weather are anticipated for the next week. Data indicates that on Friday, eight cities recorded temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. Puri experienced the highest temperature at 36.2 degrees Celsius, followed by Nayagada at 36 degrees, Bhubaneswar at 35.6 degrees, and Baleshwar and Chandbali each at 35.2 degrees. Jharsuguda recorded 35.1 degrees, while Baripada and Paralakhemundi both reached 35 degrees Celsius. The weather office noted that there are currently no favorable conditions for rainfall, suggesting little chance of precipitation.
In another development, a cyclonic circulation is expected to emerge over the north Andaman Sea around October 12. This could lead to the formation of a low-pressure area by October 13, which may develop into a depression over the south Bay of Bengal or the adjacent central Bay of Bengal by around October 15. This system may bring rainfall coinciding with the Dussehra festival. However, there are no current predictions regarding the potential intensification of this system. Global weather models suggest that the developing depression may head towards the southern coast of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
