Bhubaneswar: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), numerous districts in Odisha are expected to experience substantial rainfall and thunderstorms in the upcoming week.
The weather agency has issued a yellow warning effective until 8:30 AM on September 16, indicating a high likelihood of heavy rain in one or two locations within Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds, reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h, are anticipated in several areas including Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
From September 16 to 18, thunderstorms, including lightning and gusty winds, are also expected to affect areas such as Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
On September 18 and 19, heavy rain is again likely in Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, and Baleshwar, with thunderstorms and gusty winds forecasted for regions including Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
From September 19 to 20, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Koraput, Gajapati, and Ganjam, alongside thunderstorms and gusty winds across various locations like Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
From September 20 to 22, heavy rain is expected in one or two places over Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts.
