IMD Forecasts Continued Rainfall in Odisha for Five More Days

The India Meteorological Department’s regional center in Bhubaneswar has forecasted that Odisha will continue to experience rainfall for an additional five days.

As per the weather department’s assessment, thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds are anticipated across numerous districts in the state.

Day 1 (Valid until 8:30 AM on July 12):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (speeds of 30-40 km/h) are likely in parts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
  • Heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated areas of Sundaragada and Kendujhar.
  • Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in several regions of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8:30 AM on July 12 to 8:30 AM on July 13):

  • YELLOW WARNING: Similar thunderstorm conditions are predicted for Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
  • Heavy rain is likely in isolated areas of Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.

  • YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are expected in Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Kandhamala, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha, and Nayagada.
