The Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued warnings for rain and thunderstorms throughout Odisha in the upcoming days.
Severe rainfall is anticipated in northern Odisha over the next 48 hours, with another wave of intense conditions expected in both northern and southern regions starting September 23.
Weather predictions indicate that a cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over the North Andaman Sea by the evening of September 18. This system will lead to the formation of a low-pressure area over the East Central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Andaman Sea by September 19. It is expected to gradually intensify and shift west-northwest, nearing the coastlines of South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh around September 23.
