Today, torrential rainfall created hazardous conditions in Jharsuguda district, but the quick thinking of a bus driver prevented a serious accident involving students from Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya.
The incident took place in the Lakhanpur block, where ongoing rainfall transformed an under-construction culvert bypass road into a treacherous muddy path. The school bus, carrying students, became immobilized when one of its wheels became ensnared in the muck. The driver acted promptly, halting the vehicle and averting further sliding.
As the bus began to tilt in the mud, many students inside panicked and attempted to exit in fear. However, the driver’s vigilance ensured that there were no injuries. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus could have toppled over without the driver’s timely intervention.
