Mumbai. Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited (BSE: 544780 and NSE: VAML), India’s largest aluminium producer, announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company delivered an outstanding performance in its first quarter as an independent entity. The company’s board has also approved a first interim dividend of ₹8 per share.
The company’s revenue rose to a record high of ₹21,105 crore, marking a 13% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 45% rise compared to the same quarter last year. This growth was driven by higher sales volumes and better price realization. EBITDA surged to a record ₹10,499 crore, up 24% from the previous quarter and 134% from the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Driven by improved cost control, the EBITDA margin also expanded to a record high of 50%.
**Vedanta Aluminium Receives AA+ Credit Rating**
The company reported a profit of ₹6,597 crore, an increase of 33% over the previous quarter and 205% over the same quarter last year, reflecting its strong operational performance. The company has further strengthened its financial position by reducing debt; the net debt-to-EBITDA ratio improved to 0.9x from 1.3x in the fourth quarter of FY26. In recognition of its consistently strong performance, both CRISIL and ICRA have upgraded Vedanta Aluminium’s credit rating to AA+ (Stable).
**Record Aluminium Production of 632 KT**
The company’s aluminium production rose to a record high of 632 kilo tonnes (KT), an increase of 3% compared to the previous quarter and 5% compared to the same quarter last year. Meanwhile, the production of value-added products (VAP) rose to a record high of 389 kilotonnes (KT), marking a 4% increase compared to the previous quarter and a 14% rise over the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s alumina production stood at 826 kilotonnes (KT), up 41% from the same quarter last year, driven by expanded refining capacity and improved plant utilization.

Community Development & Social Initiatives: Vedanta Aluminium extended support to approximately 4 lakh people through need-based CSR programs. It empowered 72,000 individuals through skill development initiatives and supported 27 lakh women and children through various social welfare programs.
Environmental Initiatives and Key Achievements
Clean Energy: Renewable energy consumption by Vedanta Aluminium rose by 38% year-on-year to 701 million units (70.1 crore units), aiding efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Increased renewable energy usage and energy conservation measures led to a reduction of approximately 3% in the company’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions compared to the previous year; this represents an 11.6% reduction compared to FY21.
Water Conservation: The company recycled approximately 4.9 million cubic meters (49 lakh cubic meters) of water. It also reduced fresh water consumption through water reuse, recycling, and the utilization of alternative water sources.
Waste-to-Resource: The company achieved 120% fly ash utilization, including the consumption of legacy fly ash stocks. Additionally, it increased the reuse of red mud under its ‘Red-to-Green’ initiative.
Biodiversity Conservation: The company advanced its biodiversity initiatives by focusing on planting native species and rehabilitating mining areas. To date, the company has planted a total of 2.9 million (29 lakh) trees.
Workplace Enhancement and Employee-Related Achievements
Vedanta Aluminium further strengthened workplace safety during Q1 FY27. The company’s safety performance improved compared to Q4 FY26. There was a reduction in the number of Lost Time Injuries (LTIs)—injuries resulting in time off work—as well as an improvement in the LTI rate. The company further strengthened its commitment to workplace safety through increased site visits by senior executives, regular safety discussions, systems for managing critical risks, and measures tailored to the specific needs of each workplace. To enhance opportunities for all, the company maintained 21% gender diversity and increased the number of LGBTQ+ employees to over 35, thereby helping to create a more inclusive and future-ready workplace.
**Financial Performance**
Revenue: The company’s total revenue stood at ₹21,105 crore, up 13% sequentially and 45% year-on-year. This growth was driven by increased sales volumes, marketing contributions, and favorable market conditions.
EBITDA and EBITDA Margin: The company’s EBITDA rose to ₹10,499 crore, an increase of 24% sequentially and 134% year-on-year. This growth was driven by higher sales, improved cost control, and the contribution of Value-Added Products (VAP). Better market realizations also aided performance, although rising raw material costs had some impact.

Depreciation and Amortization: o Depreciation and amortization expenses stood at ₹775 crore, up 3% sequentially and 11% year-on-year. This aligns with the capitalization of new assets.
Finance Cost: The company’s finance cost stood at ₹1,001 crore, up 9% sequentially and flat year-on-year.
Profit After Tax: The company’s Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at ₹6,597 crore, up 33% sequentially and 205% year-on-year. This was driven by the increase in EBITDA.
