A passenger bus transporting 50 individuals from Jharsuguda to Bhadrak lost control near the Ghasiapura market in Kendujhar, colliding with a tree along the roadside.
The incident resulted in one passenger sustaining critical injuries, while six others were also hurt. The critically injured individual was transferred to SCB Medical College in Cuttack for more intensive care.
The bus, which was filled with commuters, struck the tree in close proximity to a petrol pump. Local residents quickly arrived at the scene to assist in rescuing the injured. Authorities, including police, also reached the area to facilitate the victims’ transportation to nearby medical facilities.
According to eyewitness accounts, the driver lost control of the bus, which led to the accident. Although the crash caused significant alarm among those on board, most passengers fortunately sustained only minor injuries. Officials confirmed that the bus was on its way to Bhadrak with approximately 50 passengers aboard.
