On Thursday, the Jharsuguda district administration successfully reunited a man missing from Uttar Pradesh with his family as part of the ‘Sneha Setu’ initiative.
The individual, Murari Gupta, hails from Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh. He was found in a distressed condition by the Belpahad police on October 14 and was promptly taken to a nearby shelter home managed by the District Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) department. After receiving appropriate care, health assessments, and counseling, Gupta provided details about his home address in Kushinagar.
Under the leadership of Jharsuguda Collector Chavan Kunal Motiram, the SSEPD department swiftly coordinated with local authorities in Uttar Pradesh to locate Gupta’s family. Once they confirmed the family’s identity, relatives traveled to Odisha to bring him back home.
Gupta was joyfully reunited with his family at the Social Security Office, where his relatives expressed their gratitude to the local officials for their assistance.
