Bhubaneswar: Flight operations between Jharsuguda and both Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad are expected to recommence soon. This announcement comes as the state government makes concerted efforts to restore the halted air services, according to Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, who spoke on Saturday.
Tripathy revealed that he had a discussion with Chief Secretary Anu Garg over the phone and also engaged with officials from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). He noted that the situation is nearing resolution, and the resumption of flights from Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda is anticipated soon.
“Star Air’s flight services on the Hyderabad-Jharsuguda-Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda-Hyderabad routes were suspended a few days ago. I discussed the matter with the Chief Secretary over the phone today and also took it up with the CMO. The issue is in the final stage and the services will resume soon,” Tripathy stated.
The suspension of these flight services has impacted air travel between western Odisha, Bhubaneswar, and Hyderabad, forcing passengers to seek alternate transportation options.
Additionally, Upendra Nath Dhaundia, the director of Veer Surendra Sai Airport, confirmed that Star Air’s flights connecting Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad have been grounded since August 17 and are scheduled to remain suspended until October 24.
