The Odisha government has approved an emergency fund of ₹10 crore to assist four districts that have suffered due to the recent heavy rainfall and flooding.

According to the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC) office, the allocated funds are distributed among the affected regions as follows:

  • Nabarangpur: ₹5 crore
  • Ganjam: ₹2 crore
  • Gajapati: ₹2 crore
  • Jharsuguda: ₹1 crore

This financial support aims to address various needs, including compensation for damaged homes, assistance for farmers facing crop losses, and the operational costs of relief camps.

In a communication to the district collectors, Additional Special Relief Commissioner Padmanav Behera urged the swift distribution of these funds to qualified residents.

Collectors are required to adhere to state guidelines closely and to report back on their expenditures to the SRC office. This allocation serves as an immediate response while officials conduct comprehensive evaluations of the overall damage to infrastructure and agriculture.
