Bhubaneswar: The Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s anticipated three-day trip to Odisha, originally scheduled to begin on July 3, has been delayed due to commitments in New Delhi, according to Manmohan Samal, the president of the state BJP. Samal stated, “The Home Minister’s Odisha visit is postponed due to some engagements in Delhi. The next date of the tour will be announced later.”
Shah was expected to land in Jharsuguda on July 3 to inaugurate Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (BPCL) bio-ethanol facility, which represents an investment of Rs 1,775 crore, located in Baulsingha village. Additionally, he was planned to lay the groundwork for various development projects in Baragada and then move on to Sambalpur on July 4 for public gatherings and discussions with BJP workers and local leaders. Party officials and local authorities also pointed out that severe weather conditions and heavy rainfall across Odisha played a role in the postponement. The BJP’s state leadership has confirmed that an announcement regarding new dates for the rescheduled itinerary will follow shortly.
