Jharsuguda: Bhesamati Naik, hailing from Tileimal village in the Laikera block of Jharsuguda district, participated in the esteemed Independence Day ‘At-Home’ Reception hosted by the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday, highlighting Odisha’s achievements.
Coming from a less privileged background, Naik embarked on her professional journey after completing hospitality training in 2016 under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY), a program supported by the Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS).
Following her training, she secured her first job in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, earning a monthly salary of Rs 6,000. Over time, her dedication and experience led her to a significant role at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Sambalpur, where she now earns Rs 35,000 a month as an office attendant.
On August 14, Jharsuguda Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan honored Naik at his office, commending her accomplishments. Yuvraj Sahu, Deputy CEO of ORMAS, was also in attendance. Naik’s success story is being celebrated as a testament to how skill development can empower rural youth to achieve financial independence and forge successful careers.
