Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Jharsuguda is advancing its expansion efforts by pinpointing private land for acquisition in Durlaga village. A notification released on Wednesday signifies progress toward the establishment of a new Terminal-2 at the airport.
The prepared land schedules for this initiative detail multiple privately owned plots within Durlaga village, situated in the Jharsuguda tahasil and district. Separate schedules have been created for areas under the jurisdiction of Jharsuguda Police Station Nos. 6 and 7.
These documents outline the names of landowners and tenants, including khata and plot numbers, land classification, Record of Rights area, and the amount of land proposed for acquisition. Both separately and jointly recorded holdings are included in the schedules.
The planned acquisition aims to secure additional land necessary for the expansion of VSS Airport, a vital aviation hub in western Odisha. Identifying these private plots is a crucial step in advancing the airport’s infrastructure development.
This initiative is part of the airport’s strategy to enhance its facilities to meet future passenger and operational needs. The proposed Terminal-2 is anticipated to be a significant element of this expansion effort.
As the project moves forward, further information regarding the acquisition process, including timelines, compensation for affected landowners, and specific infrastructure developments, will be released through upcoming official channels.
