Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Aluminium, the leading aluminium producer in India, has created substantial job opportunities for a new group of 30 young individuals from Jharsuguda through its VeDakshata Skill Development Initiative.

The participants, trained as Mobile Hardware Repair Technicians, have obtained employment with prominent electronics manufacturers such as Tata Electronics, Foxconn, and Dixon Technologies. This achievement represents a significant step forward in the initiative’s goal to connect local youth with growing career prospects.

Launched in 2025, the VeDakshata project has consistently increased its positive influence across Jharsuguda. Earlier this year, Vedanta Aluminium provided training for 60 individuals in Mobile Repairing and Food & Beverage Services, followed by an additional batch of 30 completing the Food & Beverage Services training. To date, over 120 youths have been trained, establishing a strong pipeline of skilled workers while enhancing connections between local communities and emerging job opportunities in critical sectors.

The latest group includes female trainees who have secured positions at Tata Electronics and Foxconn in Bengaluru, while male trainees have found employment with Dixon Technologies in Chennai, paving the way for local youth to engage in India’s rapidly growing electronics manufacturing sector.

C Chandru, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium in Jharsuguda, highlighted the project’s impact, stating, “The true value of skilling lies in its ability to create tangible livelihood opportunities. Through VeDakshata, we are steadily building a comprehensive framework that connects youth from Jharsuguda with industry-relevant skills and credible employment avenues. The placement with leading companies reinforces the strong impact achieved by this model, and we will continue expanding such opportunities across emerging sectors.”

The valedictory ceremony at the VeDakshata Centre in Jharsuguda included the presentation of offer letters and course completion certificates, attended by senior company representatives.

Jayshree Naik, a participant in the VeDakshata Initiative from Jamera, shared her experience, saying, “The programme helped me gain practical technical skills and understand what is expected in a professional workplace. Receiving a job opportunity after completing the training has given me confidence to begin my career and support my family.”

VeDakshata is Vedanta Aluminium’s primary skill development program designed to improve employability among youth in the Jharsuguda community. Through industry-focused training in Mobile Repairing Hardware Technician and Food & Beverage Services, the initiative offers hands-on learning, workplace readiness, career guidance, and placement assistance.
