Jharsuguda: The Badmal police have successfully resolved a robbery incident with the apprehension of four individuals and the recovery of Rs 4.89 lakh, as confirmed by police on Saturday.
The suspects have been named as Pinku Suna, Rabi Suna, Anand Tandi, and Manoj Nanda, with Pinku Suna being identified as the principal suspect in the case.
Initially reported as a robbery, the investigation shifted direction once authorities reviewed CCTV footage, technical evidence, and other scientific data while also gathering local intelligence.
The police registered the case on August 20 and initiated an in-depth investigation. As the inquiry progressed, it became evident that the robbery was likely part of a premeditated scheme.
According to police, the conspiracy was allegedly devised in Raurkela on August 16 and carried out on August 18. This led investigators to Jharipani, where they recovered Rs 4,89,700.
Using CCTV footage and other technical evidence, along with local intelligence, police were able to reconstruct the timeline of events and identify the alleged method of operation.
The evidence collected was crucial in exposing the alleged conspiracy and in pinpointing the four suspects, as stated by officials.
Authorities have indicated that further investigations are ongoing to clarify the full sequence of events and to determine the specific involvement of each of the arrested individuals in the case.
