Sambalpur: A man aged 36 lost his life in a brazen shooting incident on Saturday in Burla, located in Odisha’s Sambalpur district. The victim has been identified as Md Anish, who was engaged in the meat trading business in the area.
Details from initial reports indicate that the shooting occurred at Kirba Chhak in Burla, where assailants discharged three shots at close range, resulting in the immediate death of Anish.
Early investigations suggest that the motive behind the attack was a personal disagreement and ongoing grievances among those involved. Authorities have apprehended a suspect, Raja Swami, from Mangala Bazar in Jharsuguda, and he is currently being held at the Burla police station.
The firearm used in the shooting has been recovered by law enforcement. Ongoing inquiries into the case are in progress.
Police have assured the public that the incident appears to be confined to the individuals involved and does not pose a broader threat to community safety at this time.
