Authorities in Jharsuguda district have dismantled a fabricated dacoity case within the jurisdiction of the Badamal police station, leading to the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of cash, mobile devices, and motorcycles.

The incident was reported on August 20, 2026, when Pinku Suna, a cash executive for Radiant Cash Management Services Ltd., lodged a complaint claiming that he was robbed by unidentified individuals near the Toyota showroom on SH-10.

However, discrepancies in his account and previous failures to properly deposit collected cash raised red flags for the police. An investigation unveiled that Pinku, in collaboration with accomplices Manoj Nanda (22), Ravi Suna (29), and Anand Tandia (35), had concocted the robbery narrative to obscure missing funds.

Police confiscated ₹4,89,700 in cash, along with five mobile phones, an Apache motorcycle (OD 12 E 4958), and a Hero iSmart motorcycle (OD 14 H 5457) from the suspects. The four individuals have since been presented in court.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify additional parties involved and to account for the untraceable funds. Police have indicated that the purported robbery was a deliberate plot aimed at concealing misappropriated cash.
