Vedanta Expands Support Initiatives for Differently-Abled in Jharsuguda and Sundargarh

BHUBANESWAR: On Tuesday, Vedanta Aluminium Coal Mines announced an expansion of its support initiative aimed at assisting differently-abled individuals in the Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts.

The program now covers areas including Jamkhani, Girisima, Jharpalam, R&R Colony Mendra, Garjanjore, Bileimunda, Chhatabar, and Ghogharpalli, where 19 wheelchairs were distributed to selected beneficiaries. Previously, similar assistance was provided in Kuraloi, where wheelchairs were also given to identified individuals.

According to officials, a total of 49 beneficiaries have received wheelchairs and hearing aids to improve their mobility and accessibility. This initiative aims to meet the mobility and accessibility requirements of both disabled individuals and elderly residents, thereby facilitating their active participation in daily life and community activities.

Amaresh Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium Coal Mines, stated, “By providing assistive support, Vedanta aims to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and elderly community members, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.”
