Jharsuguda: Vedanta Aluminium held a graduation ceremony for 30 local youths who completed an industry-focused Food & Beverage training course at its Vedakshata Skill Development Centre.
The event was led by Amit Kumar from the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) in Jharsuguda. He praised the graduates for their achievement and urged them to utilize their new skills to forge successful careers. Vedakshata is Vedanta Aluminium’s initiative aimed at enhancing employability among youth in Odisha by providing practical vocational training, mentorship, and readiness for the workplace in sectors such as hospitality and mobile repair, thereby addressing the gap between local talent and market needs.
Since its launch, Vedakshata has trained more than 90 youths, many of whom have found jobs and pursued sustainable career paths. By tailoring its training programs to meet industry requirements, the initiative plays a vital role in skill development and economic empowerment in the area.
C Chandru, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium in Jharsuguda, emphasized that empowering youth is essential for building resilient communities. He noted that through the ‘Vedakshata’ program, the company equips local youth with relevant industry skills and practical experience to foster meaningful career opportunities. Jasoda Budula, a participant from Jharsuguda, remarked that the Vedakshata training offered valuable insights into the Food & Beverage industry, enhancing his professional skills and confidence, and preparing him for new job prospects.
