On Wednesday, Kunal Motiram Chavan, the collector of Jharsuguda district, made an unannounced visit to the Government Upper Primary School in Lakhanpur to assess educational quality and the execution of the mid-day meal initiative.
Joined by Binay Patel, the Lakhanpur Block Development Officer, Chavan engaged with both students and teachers, examined the school premises, and urged the block education officer and staff to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and regular upkeep of the facilities.
During his visit, Chavan participated in the mid-day meal alongside students to evaluate its quality firsthand. He expressed disappointment regarding certain preparation aspects and reprimanded the teachers in charge of the meal program.
The collector instructed school officials to enhance the cooking process without delay and ensure that the meals comply with necessary nutritional and hygiene standards, emphasizing that any negligence would not be tolerated. Furthermore, he directed the block education officer to conduct regular inspections to oversee the scheme effectively and avert any shortcomings.
