Jharsuguda: On September 16, JSW JFE Steel officially opened the Geetu Seva Kitchen, a charitable initiative from the JSW Foundation inspired by Chairperson Sangeeta Jindal. With the principle that “service is the highest duty,” the kitchen aims to offer nutritious meals to those in need, including patient attendants, orphanages, and senior citizens’ homes.
The inauguration was led by Umesh Rai, CEO of JSW JFE Steel, accompanied by company officials and members of the Akanksha Ladies Club. The initiative kicked off with the distribution of food packets to the housekeeping staff and attendants of patients at Sanjeevani Hospital in Jharsuguda. The Geetu Seva Kitchen, shaped by Sangeeta Jindal’s vision, is supported by a team of 30 women volunteers who serve food with care and dignity in a modern, hygienic environment.
Umesh Rai expressed that the Geetu Seva Kitchen exemplifies the company’s belief that genuine progress should be evaluated based on social impact rather than merely industrial success, highlighting a commitment to compassion that is set to benefit many.
Priti Rai, the president of the Akanksha Ladies Club, noted that the kitchen offers meals infused with love, dignity, and hope, driven by a dedicated group of members focused on helping those in greatest need.
Initially launched as a local movement, Geetu Seva Kitchen aspires to extend kindness, compassion, and a spirit of service well beyond the traditional community kitchen framework.
