Jharsuguda: On Monday, a special ceremony took place at the District Collector’s office to honor and promote the sports talent in Jharsuguda district. District Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan acknowledged 55 hockey players who represented their district at the 5th State-level Hockey Championship-2026, held at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela this past April.
These players, hailing from various schools and areas within the district, received certificates of appreciation for their exceptional performances and involvement in the tournament.
Chavan praised the athletes and expressed his wish for their future success, emphasizing that true achievement extends beyond just participation. He encouraged the youth to focus their hard work, perseverance, and determination on winning medals to enhance the reputation of both the district and the state.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment, Chavan assured that players would receive high-quality training, additional support, and access to modern sports facilities. He expressed his hope that this support would inspire a renewed sense of enthusiasm and self-confidence among the young athletes.
